This will not be for all tastes, and it does contain some foul language (strangely, the standards vary from one segment to the next, with a word bleeped in one part allowed to slip by in another part). But it is so brilliant, and so funny, and I needed a good laugh so much tonight that I had to share it.
Playbill magazine, which functions as the program for various Broadway and off-Broadway shows, has recruited the stars of a current production of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” and had them read transcripts from MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” exactly the way Algernon and Jack would say the lines.
Each segment begins with a quote that suggests Oscar Wilde might have found “Jersey Shore” a guilty pleasure.
