I have not been able to make it to the production of “The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Tenn.)” that has been running on the Webb School campus in nearby Bell Buckle as the centerpiece of this year’s Tennessee Shakespeare Festival. My co-worker Mary Reeves tells me it’s hysterical. It wraps up this weekend, but with everything going on and with my last-minute trip preparations in high gear I will not make it.
Here’s what I’ll be missing:

I ran across this on YouTube while looking for something else. The copy was obviously written (or at least influenced) by the very creative Carla Webb, wife of Mayor Dennis Webb. Carla shows up as “Goo Goo” late in the video.
For my out-of-town readers, if you’ve never been to Bell Buckle, you need to go. And don’t come to Bell Buckle without giving me a call here in Shelbyville.

The Mental_Floss magazine blog has highlighted one of our local events: The R.C. Cola & Moon Pie Festival in Bell Buckle. It’s right on the heels of the Bell Buckle segment on the Travel Channel’s Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo.
I haven’t been to the festival in a year or two, and I’m looking forward to this year.
