Tonight made the last two months worth it. Every single one of us in the cast was on point, and we had an appreciative and vocal audience.
My father had been scheduled to come tonight with two family friends, but they had to change their plans and Dad was still digging out from his week-long trip to North Carolina and East Tennessee, so he’s coming tomorrow night instead. So I thought I had no one in the audience, but then my online buddy Ivy Hogan drove down from Smyrna with her kids. She told me she was going to try to see the show, and there she was, a wonderful surprise.
My brother and sister-in-law from North Carolina sent a plant, which was waiting for me backstage when I arrived this evening, makng me feel like a star. And Sharon from the cast wrote individual notes to each of us.
A terrific, terrific evening. Now we just have to live up to it for the other three performances.
My kids were still talking this morning about the play! They all had several different opinions on what was the best part.
