A man with true grit

The Coen brothers — the Coen brothers! — are going to do a new movie version of “True Grit,” although they say it will be a more faithful adaptation of the original novel rather than a remake of the John Wayne / Kim Darby / Glen Campbell movie. They say that means the movie will be told more from Mattie’s point of view and will be (excuse the pun) grittier.

I haven’t seen who is going to play Mattie, but Jeff Bridges will be Rooster Cogburn, Matt Damon will play the lawman LeBoeuf and Josh Brolin will be Ned Pepper.

Intriguing.
