Tag team
The newspaper’s business manager (and my old high school classmate) Becky (Gregory) McBee just stopped by the paper to say hello; she’s taking a recovery day today after returning yesterday from her very first foreign mission trip, to Mozambique. Her church group stayed in tents, which is something that thankfully we won’t have to deal with. Becky is on cloud nine. It was a great trip; she’s glad to be home, naturally, but she says she’d take another trip in a heartbeat.
Her enthusiasm is infectious. It will be fun for me as team leader to see a few of our members who haven’t been on this type of trip going through that same kind of experience.
We found out today that the paper has brought in a widely experienced journalist and journalism teacher to serve as interim editor until at least the end of the calendar year. So when I return from the mission trip, I’ll be back to something like my normal level of responsibility.
