Well, two days ago I was blithering on in this space about my Flip Video camera, which can hold an hour of standard definition footage, and idly wishing that I had the latest model, which holds twice that much, to take on my Kenya trip.
I can’t give you too many details, because I don’t know if my benefactors would want to be identified, but I got word today (in a very creative fashion, by the way) that a new 2-hour Flip is on its way.
Throughout my foreign mission trip experience, I’ve gotten examples of remarkable generosity when I least expected them. This was one of those remarkable moments, and a sign of God’s provision as well as my friends’ generosity. I got a cute little video message by e-mail today, in the form of a “Mission: Impossible” briefing tape, from friends of mine telling me about the gift.
As I wrote in an e-mail to my benefactors (don’t worry, a traditional “Thank You” card will follow), I will try to do this gift justice by putting together the best Kenya video of which I’m capable.
