I just walked to church — a good half-hour walk — for an administrative council meeting, only to discover that
1) It was much hotter outside than I realized.
2) There was no one there.
I sat outside until 6 p.m., just to make sure no one showed, and then walked home, making a short detour to 50s & Fiddles for an ice cream cone. I was almost home when my pastor and his wife, driving, passed me in the other direction.
When I got home, I called the church office and confirmed that, sure enough, there is a church council meeting tonight — at 7 p.m.
Think I’ll drive this time.
