Last night, our church resumed its normal Wednesday night meal and schedule of activities after the holiday break. Because of the lay speaking class I had been teaching at another church before Christmas, I hadn’t been to the Wednesday night meal at my own church in months and was looking forward to it.
After dinner, I would normally have stayed for the Bible study led by our pastor. But my dentist, who is the president of our men’s club, mentioned to me that he would be sorting donated materials to put together UMCOR flood buckets right after dinner, and I agreed to help him.
I don’t recall doing anything all that strenuous with my right arm, but I’m assuming that at some point, perhaps picking up one of the loaded buckets, I did. At any rate, I was awakened at 1 a.m. by soreness in my right arm, so bad that I eventually got up and took Tylenol and rubbed the arm with Ben-Gay.
The arm is still a little sore this morning; I’m about to take some more Tylenol.
In any case, I lost some sleep last night.
