Soapstone

My novel is now available for purchase at my CreateSpace e-store. The cover image isn’t there yet — it will follow in a few days. Within a few weeks, the book will be available at Amazon.com.

Meanwhile, to show off the book, those of you who actually visit the site will notice that I’ve switched to a new theme. Those of you who follow me through a feed-reader won’t notice this, so I’m telling you: I’ve switched to a new theme. So there.

Did you publish through CreateSpace? Very interested in hearing more!

I used CreateSpace. A friend of mine had been recommending Lulu, like you had used, and I might easily have gone in that direction. But CreateSpace had a special offer for people who completed National Novel Writing Month last year, and it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I've been happy so far, although I have nothing to compare it to . You do have to design everything yourself (Amazon also owns a different POD company, BookSurge, which offers design and marketing services).

On a lark, I also set up the book for Amazon Kindle and uploaded it that way, which was surprisingly easy.

I haven't really started publicizing the book yet beyond my circle of friends, but I'll probably do something in the Times-Gazette soon. The people who read the newspaper have always been very receptive to my first-person stories about my mission trips, and I'm hoping that will translate to this fictional spin on the experience.

It was such a trip to actually see the book listed on Amazon!
