Galilean service

Our church has an annual lakeside picnic and worship service at Normandy Lake.

The worship, which is always led by the youth, takes place after dark, making it hard to video. Some of the audio from the worship is used as background music for the earlier parts of the video, and I used some stills to represent the worship service itself.

    This is really cool.

Is the service a standard order of worship? Or is there a special “Galilean” liturgy?

No, it's much less formal, mostly some songs and a devotion of some
sort, put together by the youth. The normal ending of it is that a
boat comes ashore with an illuminated cross. It's dark by that time,
and you can see the cross approaching from a good distance away in the
lake. One of the youth emerges from it dressed as Jesus. But we've had
drought conditions here the past couple of years, and the shoreline is
considerably farther away from the picnic area than it would be
normally, so they've had to stage it a little differently.

This year, the theme had to do with promises ? we had broken shards of
flowerpot on which we were supposed to write our promises to God. At
the end of the service, we stuck our shards to a wooden cross, and
then “Jesus” emerged from the darkness to see the cross.
