Tech question

I will be eligible to extend my cell phone contract and get a new phone in another few weeks, and I’m already trying to figure out what to do.

I’m happy with my current AT&T rate plan and want to stay with them.

I have been mulling the idea of buying a very cheap smartphone which I could use to keep track of my schedules and contacts, so that instead of toting around both my phone and my Palm Z22 I could just have the phone. I have heard good things about the Palm Centro, an inexpensive, entry-level smartphone, and that solution would presumably allow me to just import my existing information from the Z22. But I also hear dire warnings about the future of Palm as a company.

Is anyone using the Centro, or another very inexpensive, entry-level smartphone that you can recommend (or warn me away from)?

Try the Palm Treo 680 or better yet a Blackjack I or even better the Blackjack II. You’ll be happy with the choices, especially the Blackjacks for texting and battery life.

I’m a big fan of the palm platform, personally.
You gotta think — are you going to use it more as a pda or phone? play with it thinking of it as a phone, and then play with it thinking of it as a pda….

Check out the Cnet review. Cnet is the best, in my opinion, for electronics reviews.
