This is me and Frank during my first-ever foreign mission trip, to Nicaragua in 2003. It was my first trip, and by far the worst living conditions of any trip I’ve been on since that time. Frank and I roomed in a rickety dirt-floor shack and slept on these little cots with dirty-looking quilts on them, and I got infected by bedbugs or chiggers or something. Frank was there to encourage me when I needed it and let me vent when I needed to vent. I don’t know how I would have made it through the week without him.
