In like a lamb

Because of my cold (or whatever it was) and the bronchitis into which it morphed, I haven’t been to the rec center to work out in more than three weeks. I felt much better this week, but with my throat and my voice still a little iffy I didn’t want to do anything that would make me breathe heavily. I did stop by the rec center this week, not to check in but to renew my annual membership before the end of the month.

To make matters worse, since my stomach was never iffy I too often treated myself to comfort food during my illness.

Well, today was a glorious beginning to March, with sunny skies and mild temperatures, and so I walked to work, a nice brisk 20-minute walk each way. (I’m at work, in a spare moment, as I write this.) It felt good, actually, and hopefully I can get back into the rec center habit this coming week.

Unfortunately, the rec center said this week that it will be May before the new disc golf course opens. Even so, on nice days I may take my hand-me-down disc to the park and practice throwing it in an open field, working on my technique.
