Jerky news

I had been seeing an unfamiliar brand of jerky seasoning, Shore Lunch, in Kroger for the past week or so, and tonight, on my way home from the parents’, I bought a box of the mesquite chipotle flavor and a lean round roast that was on a big sale.
The product, the packaging and the directions are very similar to Hi Mountain Jerky seasonings, with which I’ve had great success. As with Hi Mountain, the directions for Shore Lunch call for whole muscle jerky to be cured with the dry seasonings for 24 hours, so I won’t get to put the jerky into the dehydrator until Sunday night before I go to bed.
Shore Lunch makes other types of seasoning products as well, some of which are also being carried by our Kroger here.
I’ll let you know how the jerky turns out.
