Day 15: 22,029 words

“Happy Halfway Day,” proclaims the NaNoWriMo web site, which means I should be at 25,000. I started out the week on pace, but county commission Tuesday night, Opryland last night and school board tonight have kept me from doing much, and now I’m almost two days behind schedule.
Fortunately, I should have some time this weekend to catch up. And I like the way my plotlines are starting to unfurl.
I am not blogging this novel, and the very point of NaNoWriMo means that what you write in this first-draft mode isn’t quite ready for public scrutiny. But I’m at the point where it might be fun to hear someone’s first impressions. If you are interested in getting a copy of what I’ve written, not for any sort of detailed feedback (which I do not want this month) but just for purposes of seeing the basic intent, drop me a line. I may send it to one or two people; I won’t send it to more than two people and I reserve the right to send it to people who I think will be constructive and encouraging. :)
