Green with envy

Like most of us in Middle Tennessee, I miss Opryland theme park. The last few years it was open, I had a season pass, and it was so nice, when I had to go to Nashville, to be able to just drop by and spend a little time, without feeling compelled to make a day of it.

Well, I called my sister-in-law in California to wish her a happy birthday just now. My brother told me I could talk to her if I kept it short — he, she and the kids were about to head out the door.

To Disneyland, where they have season passes.

As you know, when you talk to the parent of a young child, they often have to carry on a running conversation with the young child even while they’re trying to talk to you on the phone. So, even as she was talking to me, my SIL was talking to my nephew.

“Put on your shoes. You have to have shoes to go to Disneyland.”

I suppose you do.
