Well, I’ll be getting my portrait made tomorrow afternoon. We’re doing a new directory at church, and it’s one of those deals where a portrait photography company does the directories for free. You go in and pose, and you get a free 8″x10″, and then they recoup their investment by trying to sell you more than that. My parents have already gotten their photos taken; they ended up getting a discount on their photo package as a result of working a shift as check-in volunteers.

I don’t need a lot of photos of myself. I know from my parents that you can purchase a CD of your portrait; I suspect that the CD by itself is expensive, since they’d probably rather sell you lots of prints than let you make them yourself. I don’t know exactly what, if anything, I’ll get until I see what the packages are and until I see from my video preview whether I’m happy with the portrait. I may get a sheet of wallet-size photos just because it would be handy to have them and to help support the church directory.
