Snow cream

I picked up a carton of Mayfield’s Snow Cream the other day. It’s a fascinating product — it really does have the taste and (when you scrape it up to serve it) sort of the texture of the snow cream you made as a kid. It’s extremely low fat. It’s not going to put ice cream out of business, but it’s a fun change of pace.

Get out of town!!! I can’t believe they can box up snow cream. I’m going to have to try it.

We’ve tried twice in the 8yo’s lifetime to make snow cream, with little success — not enough snow. In Bolivar [a decent number of miles south of here] 30 or so years ago, we made it more than once a year.

Don’t get me started on global warming. :)

Sounds like iced milk (or in some locales, “ice milk”) that was on the market until a few years ago. I really liked it better than ice cream and, of course, it was low-cal when few thought about calories.

I preferred ice milk as well – it tasted more like homemade ice cream.
