My co-worker Danette Williams brought her homemade salsa to work today; it’s delicious. But we got into a discussion about how different it is from my salsa, which is also (if I do say so myself) quite popular with the T-G staff. I haven’t made salsa in ages. So, after covering two meetings for the paper tonight, I drove to Kroger, bought everything I needed, and then came back and made salsa — a much more involved process than it sounds like, with a lot of chopping, and roasting the peppers, and dropping the tomatoes into boiling water so that I can skin them, and so on.
I probably should have put this off until next week — it’s a busy week, and I think I’m still in a little bit of a sleep deficit — but I just got it into my head and had to do it. I hope my co-workers appreciate what I’ve done for them when I bring the salsa to work tomorrow.
