You know you’re addicted to blogging when something causes you to get in late, and — instead of heading right to bed — you must blog about the event while it’s still fresh in your mind.
The concert, featuring The Send and Hawk Nelson, was great. The baseball game was fun, although the Sounds got beaten.
Then, on a very dark, very busy stretch of Interstate 24 north of Murfreesboro, the church bus broke down. It was a bad alternator. We spent an hour or more in the darkness, then someone with a chain pulled us up to the base of the nearest exit, where we were at least under street lamps. Then, with the help of two batteries, the bus was coaxed up the exit ramp. There was no retail development at that intersection, and nothing open at that time of night, so the bus went to the parking lot of the nearest business to the interchange. The nearest business to the interchange was, I kid you not, a firm that sells and services school buses.
Eventually, fellow church members brought SUVs and a van to Murfreesboro from Shelbyville to ferry us home. I got to my apartment about 12:10 or 12:15.
