If, like me, you have your computer in the same room as the TV and sometimes use it to look up TV listings, you will want to check out MeeVee, which I just learned about today. It’s got TV listings, and you can even set up an RSS feed of your favorites. It also has YouTube-type videos.
I happened to read about it from a TV industry trade site, in a news story about MeeVee signing agreements with various content providers, so apparently the service is on the rise.
Our cable TV company here reshuffled the channel listings in March, and they still throw me off. I had been using MyWay for my TV listings, and it still used the old channel numbers. MeeVee had the up to date — but I had to do a bit of jiggering to find the proper cable company. When I first typed in the ZIP code for Shelbyville, the service listed several neighboring cable systems, all of which probably serve a few customers on Shelbyville routes, but not the one that actually serves the city proper. To get those listings, I had to submit the ZIP code for Tullahoma or Manchester instead.
Still, the service seems fun and useful, and I’ve already put it on my browser’s button bar.
