Except for one year, just a few years ago, I have been unattached for pretty much all of my adult life. I fear that at this point I’m just beyond letting someone else into my selfish little universe.
Anyway, even though I love seafood, I’ve been to Red Lobster once in the past couple of decades. It’s just too expensive, and I really haven’t had anyone to take, and didn’t get around to it during the year when I did have someone to take.
But I got a gift card, and it’s been burning a hole in my pocket, and so tonight I went to Red Lobster in Tullahoma. I got a platter with lobster tail and two kinds of shrimp. It was pretty good, although if you want to be completely honest about it the shrimp was better than the lobster, which was a tiny bit rubbery (not bad enough to complain, mind you). Then again, melted butter covers a multitude of sins.
After you include the tip, I burned up the whole $25 gift card and had to leave a dollar bill along with it.
I went straight from Tullahoma to Motlow for Spanish class. I got there way early, which was just fine, because I haven’t gotten to work out as much as I’d like this week and so I just took a brisk 25-minute walk on campus. After this morning’s rain, it was an absolutely gorgeous late afternoon, with blue skies and a nice green college campus in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees. The only hitch was that construction of Motlow’s new library blocked some of the sidewalks, so there were a couple of cases where I had to backtrack or cut through parking lots because I couldn’t go any farther on the sidewalk.
It was a nice, relaxing interlude in a busy week.
