¿Habla usted español?

I am toying with taking a six-week, non-credit Conversational Spanish class at the local community college. I took pretty much this same course prior to the Nicaragua trip in 2003, and I think it was helpful in at least reminding me of common verbs, numbers, colors and what have you. I know we will be working among the Quechua people, and it may be that they are more fluent in Quechua than Spanish. But I’m sure they’ll be more fluent in Spanish than English, and it can’t hurt for me to brush up on my Spanish.

The class would meet for six weeks on Wednesday nights. I would miss our Wednesday night church activities for that time, but I think it would be worth it.

Yeah, good for you John. I took German in college. Right, I’ve used that a lot in the past 2 decades. The only Spanish I know is “Hola”. Well that and “?Casa de PP?” from the old Steve Martin routine:)

My parents just came back from a mission trip to Nicaragua. Mom taught sewing and Dad taught concrete pouring.
