First Church of Me

It occurred to me today that I had Art in my RSS reader but not Stacie, even though Stacie has been kind enough to comment here several times recently. I can be dense like that sometimes.

Anyway, I was looking at Stacie’s site tonight and found this, which is hilarious — and a little bit too close to home:

    It’s funny. I just got rotated on to the P.R. Committee for my church and our task this year is to do a video. I saw this one about a year ago and forgot about it. I think I’m gonna have to send it to the other people on the committee as an example of what NOT to do. ;=p

    That is hilarious, yet biting. It actually exposes some of the theological problems with overly pragmatic evangelism techniques – i.e. “if it works, do it!” Now that we’ve seen a Church that’s all about me, let’s figure out what a Church looks like that’s all about God… I think I might be scared to go to one of those.
