So far, so good ….

Just ignore this if it’s too much detail for you:

Well, things have gone rather well so far. I took an Aleve as soon as I got home, as per the doctor’s brochure, and I’ve been taking them every four hours (again, as per the brochure), but I have not yet touched the Percocet, and it’s been nine hours since the procedure ended. I had the gauze out for a little while but have put a new piece back in. I was really sleepy most of the afternoon, and I took things very easy, but I really haven’t had any swelling or discomfort. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I have a little bit of a scratchy throat, and I’m trying not to cough too violently, because I don’t want to do anything to hurt the socket sites. My doctor didn’t go anywhere near this far, but one site I saw online advised you not to even drink with a straw because the vacuum inside your mouth might open the wound.

I’ve had water, Slim-Fast, yogurt and chocolate pudding. I’ll try some Jell-O a little later.
