I have reserved two tickets to “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” during my trip to visit my brother and sister-in-law in Southern California next month. My brother Mike will go with me. It will be a “sweeps” month, so hopefully there will be some good guests. On the downside, I know that there have been times when they’ve allowed really big guests to tape their segments a week or two in advance in order to be plugged into an episode later.

I enjoy Craig; our local CBS affiliate delays him by half an hour, and he’s on late already, so I never watch him live. For a while, I was taping him every night; I got out of that habit but I’ll probably try to check out the show some over the next few weeks, if only so I’ll catch any particular running gags.

I’ve even read Craig’s novel, “Between the Bridge and the River,” which Mike and Kelly gave me for my birthday. I may bring it with me in case Craig goes into the audience for the pre-show warmup. It would be great to get it autographed!
