I’ve been listening to Christmas music on my computer this afternoon. Although Windows Media is set on “Shuffle,” the particular cuts I’m enjoying the most are from my favorite Christmas album, Joy, Joy by David Phelps and the Millar Brass Ensemble. It’s several years old but it’s still available this time of year. Mostly traditional songs, but with a couple of new ones thrown in, and with an over-the-top vocal styling that would sound silly any other time of year but which is exactly what Christmas music ought to be. I think it’s terrific.
