While waiting for my new Palm to arrive, I am going through the contacts in my current installation of Palm Desktop, and my address book in Thunderbird, and trying to weed them out, make sure that both places have the right information, and what have you. I had been using Plaxo with Thunderbird, but it didn’t synch with Palm, and I’ve decided I don’t really need it anyway.

If I were using Microsoft Outlook, I could synch my Palm to that, but since I’m not, I’m pretty much stuck synching to Palm Desktop. There is a Thunderbird extension to synch Thunderbird’s address book to Palm Desktop, but it sounds buggy and more trouble than it’s worth at present. In looking at the issue tonight, though, I did get a tip or two for easily moving new contacts from one system to the other.
