In observance of today’s anniversary, McSweeney’s is re-running the remarks made two weeks after 9/11 by John Hodgman, a humorist and former literary agent who is now

• The “resident expert” on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”, and
• The personification of the “PC” on those Mac vs. PC ads Apple has been running.

Hodgman was speaking a literary reading, and his remarks, both wry and beautiful, reflect the difficulty of talking about anything else in the weeks following the tragedy. I hadn’t really known who he was until he started appearing on TDS, but I have a whole different attitude towards him after reading this piece.
