Welcome, Ila Katherine!

IlaHere’s a big Lake Neuron shout-out to Ila Katherine Carney, who will probably not get to read it seeing as how she only arrived by c-section today in California. She weighs 7 pounds even; she and her mom, Dr. Kelly Walter Carney, are both doing fine, and my brother Mike is beaming with pride through the cellular telephone.

ADDENDUM: When I first posted, I was so scatterbrained that I forgot to mention Ila’s big brother, Daniel, who will get to see Ila as soon as they pick him up from day care.

CORRECTION: I am certain I was told on the phone that she weighed 7 pounds. But the official announcement e-mail from her father says 5 pounds, 15 ounces.

Let me explain . . her father, i.e., me, is sleep-addled . . .already. Been a long day. I put the wrong weight on the announcement — it’s 6 pounds 15 ounces, just one pound shy of 7 pounds.

    Phisch, thanks.
