Guy McDonald was my roommate during most of last August’s mission trip to Kenya. You may recall that I broke my camera (the one you see me holding in this photo) about a third of the way into the trip, and so I’ve had to rely on my teammates for photos. Most of what I got in the weeks after the trip were photos from the other half of the LEAMIS team — the folks who worked in Nairobi. Guy is just now getting around to sending out his photos, and so now I finally have some good shots from Ndonyo, where I worked.
As I first looked at the photos this afternoon, I felt a tremendous pang. I wanted to be back in Kenya. I know I’ll feel the same thing this August when another LEAMIS team goes to Kenya and I am not in their number. (If you’re a newcomer to this blog, I didn’t think I could raise the money this year.)
I picked out 70 or so of the best shots from the ones Guy sent, burned them onto a CD, and took them to my parents’ house this evening. I just felt like I had to share them with somebody.
