One of the things I like about Bono is that while he’s passionate about issues, he’s not hateful and he’s willing to make friends and work with people on one issue even though they might disagree on some other issue.

For example, he recently had dinner with an outspoken political figure whom he described as a friend and with whom he’s worked on African relief issues. Jesse … Jackson? No. Jesse … Ventura? No.

It’s a refreshing change from the counterproductive demonizing that some politicians and politically-active celebrities engage in.
