Congratulations to the 59,000 people who participated in National Novel Writing Month this year — a new record — and especially to the 9,700 people who got all the way to 50,000 words by midnight Wednesday.

For any non-regular readers, I participated in NaNoWriMo last year, and finished, but when I started this year I was really unhappy with my story and dropped out after two or three days.

I think I probably need to start my own NaNoWriMo-like project soon, if I can come up with a good starting point.
