Oreo balls

Well, I made the Oreo balls tonight.

Most of them are now sitting in the fridge; the last four, which were ugly looking because the dipping chocolate was running out and it was hard to get them completely coated, went into the freezer for half an hour and have just gone from the freezer into … well, into me.

I am not, generally, a baker or candymaker, and this was my first experience with coating things in chocolate. I probably have it too thick and some of the balls look ugly.

But who the heck cares? They taste like Oreos and cream cheese and chocolate chips. They are every bit as terrific as I thought they’d be from looking at the recipe.

I’ll take them to work later this week and share them. Otherwise, I’ll weigh even more than I do now.

Man, these things are good.

Too thick?! Perish the thought! There is no such thing.

I’ve had these a couple of times before….do you know if you can freeze them long-term? I’m making cookies for the holidays next weekend and have pondered making a batch of them.

A co worker brought oreo balls to work for our thanksgiving function, and after 1 bite I literlly thought I’d died and gone to heaven.

In stead of dipping them in chocolate, melt white chocolate, place in a zip lock, make a small hole in one of the corners and pour over the balls. refridge and you’ll love them even more.
