All Hallows NaNoWriMo Eve

I think it’s really unfair that Kevin Hendricks has somehow read my mind and, with only a few minor tweaks to make it seem like he’s talking about himself, perfectly encapsulated my fears on the night before National Novel Writing Month. Like Kevin, I have been challenged to do something different this year — but, like Kevin, I am frighteningly bereft of inspiration.

Well, since I’m not participating in NaNoWriMo this year I’m happy to offer advice. Perhaps a story about an old man and a huge fish? Or, you could write an allegorical tale about one man’s adventures in Nashville over the course of a single day. Maybe you should write a novel about someone with a web log, and you could cut and paste whole entries from your own blog into the novel; that would save time. Ok. Perhaps I’m not the best person to be offering writing advice. Good luck, though; I’ll look forward to seeing what you end up producing.
