TV Guide covers

For the record, I think TV Guide’s conversion to a large-size format and, more importantly, its decision to drop localized market-by-market TV listings is a huge mistake.

But I have to hand it to them for their clever collectible covers on the last small-size edition. They have taken 9 different classic covers and re-shot them with modern day TV stars:

*Reba McEntire recreates Lucy stomping grapes (that’s what I received as my subscription copy)

*Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen as Tony Randall and Jack Klugman, complete with cigar

*Regis and Kelly as Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman from “I Dream of Jeannie”

*The cast of “Scrubs” as the cast of “MASH”

*Homer Simpson as Fred Flintstone

*Greg Gumbel and Dan Marino as Phillip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson from “Miami Vice”

*Jennifer Love Hewitt as Sally Field in “The Flying Nun” habit

*Conan O’Brien as Buffalo Bob (Howdy Doody, however, is still himself)

*The cast of “The Bernie Mac Show” as the cast of “Good Times”
