Shameless self-promotion
I took a third place today in the University of Tennessee / Tennessee Press Association awards for 2004. The category was “Best Personal Column” in Group III (daily newspapers with circulations of 25,000 or less). The T-G, with a circulation of about 7,500, competes with much larger newspapers at the TPA awards each year, but we always seem to hold our own, and we received a first place in Group III for local features.
The column for which I was honored was from last October. It discussed the prospects for a county wheel tax.
