A milestone for George

Seen tonight in Brentwood, Tenn:
George and Trish

The photo above (unless you’re reading this in an aggregator or some such, in which case you may need to stop by the actual blog web site to see it) is of Mountain T.O.P. executive director George Bass and his daughter, associate executive director Trish Pulley. Tonight was Mountain T.O.P.’s annual year-end party, at which the ministry’sFISH! theme for the year is announced. This year, 2005, marks Mountain T.O.P.’s 30th anniversary. To celebrate, the Mountain T.O.P. staff secretly assembled a “memory book” for George with letters from friends from throughout the ministry’s three decades. The book was presented to George tonight during the party.

This year’s theme, which will be featured in camp worships, in preparation literature, and on T-shirts, is FISH!, an acronym for Faithful, Inclusive, Service, Hope, and a reference to our iconic fishhook pin. Last year’s theme was “Get Hooked,” another fishhook reference. Just a few weeks after that theme was announced at last year’s party, Charter Communications started using “Get Hooked” as its marketing slogan. We’re hoping “FISH!” will fare better.
