Feed my sheep

Alton Brown, host of the Food Network program “Good Eats” and one of my favorite people on television, has some thought-provoking responses to the documentary “Supersize Me.”

(The documentary, for those who haven’t heard, is about the filmmaker eating every meal at McDonalds for months on end, and the effect it had on his health.)

Any viewer of Alton’s show can see the joy he takes in encouraging people to cook. He said the movie reminded him of the extent to which we’ve taken a basic tenet of human care and concern — cooking for one another — and handed it over to others who ….

Well, I’ll just shut up at this point and encourage you to read Alton’s post. You may not agree with all of it, but it’s certainly a basis for discussion.
